My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beyond handsome, six year old Buddy is a true Golden companion dog. He sleeps by your bed, curls up next to your feet while you're working and parks right next to you if you’re settled in for a movie night. Buddy was returned to GRFR because he has anxiety around thunderstorms; in a previous life he was left outdoors and now prefers to be near his people during inclement weather. A second dog in the home will help Buddy to “face his demons” and learn that thunderstorms aren’t such a big deal afterall.

Buddy knows his basic commands, walks well on leash and is fully housebroken; however, he needs some reminding to keep “four on the floor”, so his new family should be willing to implement some training. He does very well with children and other dogs and would prefer home where his new family has time to brush him, rub his belly and dote on him in general.

Buddy’s foster family has fallen head over heels in love with him. He is a big guy, weighing in around 85 pounds, but he does not appear to be overweight. He has had free reign of the house, day and night, and has behaved like a perfect gentleman. If you have the time and patience to help Buddy work through his fear of thunderstorms, he will repay you with infinite love and affection. He is a beautiful, affectionate boy.
