My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Duchess is a 9 year-old, female, purebred Golden Retriever. She came to us from a home with another Golden (her GRFR sister Roxy), older children and cats so we know she gets along with both two- and four-legged creatures. As you can see from her latest glamour shots, she has dark red fur and is quite beautiful. She is starting a diet today so she can get back her girly figure, but she doesn’t have far to go. Her smile is always present and she can truly be called a “Velcro Golden” since she is always by your side (just in case you want to stop what you’re doing and pet her).

Previously, Duchess was an outdoor dog only, but she’s learning that being inside is not such a bad thing since that’s where it’s cooler and there’s food and water there too! She loves baths and appears to like water. She enjoys her foster family’s toys, but she especially likes the stuffed animals which she carries with her. She rides well in the car and will soon be experiencing going on leash walks with her foster brothers and sister. She knows quite a few basic commands and she plans to prove that you really CAN teach an older dog new tricks.
