Mickey's Story...
Update: I am now back in rescue at age 8, as my loving owner is very ill. Here is the original post from 2011:
There I was, put into a cloth bag with Minnie, in the hallway of an apartment in NYC! Not sure what that was about....but some nice person brought us to the shelter. I was scared there....it was big and crowded! I am now with a rescue in RI, and have shown them how I love attention, and can sit and shake paws! I am around 3 and weigh only 8 pounds. I would love a family which is around in the day, with only small, non-aggressive dogs. My fee of $335.00 covers neutering, all shots, a micro-chip, and I come with a collar and leash as well. Please ask about me if you are in RI, Cape Cod, eastern CT, western MA, or are near the Boston, Worcester (MA) or Litchfield, CT areas. Please call Judy with any further questions at 401 647-0513...would love a fur-ever family!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mickey, a Foster Papillon/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Papillon/Chihuahua for sale in Foster, or seeking a Papillon/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Foster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Foster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Foster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Papillon/Chihuahua breeders who help with Papillon/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Foster paves the way for another one to be saved.
