Irish Kiss's Information:

Miss Kiss is such a beautiful and special little girl! She was found as a stray on 4/28/11 and I took her home so she wouldn't have to stay in the cold and noisy shelter for her stray hold. No one stepped up to claim Kiss, and so she became a BDRA dog! She is house and crate trained and sleeps in my bed at night. She gets along great with the other dogs, both big and small. She loves to give kisses when you get home or when you wake her up in the morning! She can climb doggie stairs like a champ and often curls up on the back of the couch. She doesn't take up much space and only eats a little canned food. She does bark when she's unsure of her surroundings or if she gets "lost" in the house. Kiss wants a home of her own where she will be spoiled and loved endlessly for the rest of her life! A warm lap and a loving hand to reassure her that she's safe and will never be abandoned again! If you've never rescued a senior before, know that it's the most rewarding and wonderful thing that we pet lovers can do!

Sex: Female

Breed: Cairn Terrier / Terrier mix

Age: 10yrs old

Level of blindness: Completely blind.

Cause of eye issues: Left eye = old injury, eye is opaque and atrophied. Right eye = cataract. The right eye has a cataract which has probably caused the current uveitis. The pressure in the right eye is high normal. Pressure should be monitored and the uveitis will be rechecked.

Health issues: Kiss is currently being treated for yeast and bacterial ear infections, bacterial skin infection, and uveitis of the right eye. She has bilateral luxating patellas that cause some pain and discomfort which we are monitoring. She has pretty severe dental disease and 2 oronasal fistulas and has not been spayed. She has numerous small mammary tumors which have both carcinoma and sarcoma cells. Her heart is enlarged and she has a grade II heart murmur, but her lungs look and sound great! Her bloodwork is also great and she is heartworm negative. It does not appear that the cancer has metastasized, but her health is too poor overall to risk anesthesia. She is simply living life as happily as she can!

Weight: 7.5lbs
