My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Emma is only 18 months old, and she must have been limping along in pain for quite a while. You see, she has Valley Fever, and the disease has affected her front shoulder and hind leg. Nevertheless, Emma manages to get around quite well, and is somehow always able to climb into your lap and snuggle with you, the lack of compassion she received from her previous owners has not affected her sweet and loving nature at all.

She has been started on the treatment for Valley Fever, and we're hopeful that when we re-test her that we will find she is responding to the treatment. We'll keep you updated, but in the meantime please send good thoughts her way!! You can send her messages too if you'd like to - we'll make sure to pass them along to her foster mom.

Emma was dumped at the Shelter by her family as they didn't want to spend on any money on medical care for her. It turned out to be Emma's lucky day because the Shelter contacted us and asked if we could take her in. Well of course we could - that's what Arizona Basset Hound Rescue does best!

You can help Emma recover by contributing specifically to her to help pay for her medications
