My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

location: Palm Bay, FL
Blinkie, Blinkie, she’s such a wonderful girl! Blinkie was pulled, pregnant from a kill shelter in Georgia, and she is a true Georgia peach. Blinkie had two puppies on May 9, 2011 and both are already adopted, but Blinkie is just beginning her search for a forever home. It has taken a while for her foster parents to learn a bit about Blinkie because things change after you become a mom, and then your babies grow and don’t need you so much any more. So now Blinkie has been spending more time with her foster family and less with her babies. The vet thinks Blinkie is 3-4 years old. Blinkie is a great little snuggle bug and loves to lie under the blankets with her fosterdad when the family is watching TV before last potty outing and bedtime. Blinkie is crate trained and sleeps in her crate every night, but would much prefer to sleep with her people. She gets along well for the most part with her foster siblings, but can sometimes growl a bit if she thinks one of the other dogs is going to take the attention away from her. A sharp “Hey” usually brings Blinkie to a complete halt, no matter what she is doing - even chasing a squirrel - and she can be extremely submissive when she thinks she's in trouble. She will roll over immediately, giving her belly for rubs of reassurance. Her foster parents think Blinkie would do well as an only dog, or a home with just one other dog. Blinkie is just a little possessive of what she perceives as hers, such as her fosterdad. So you can tell Blinkie really loves the men folk, but she likes the ladies too. Blinkie walks wonderfully with harness and leash. With Blinkie, trash cans must be covered at all times, as she can be a real "garbage hound" when given the opportunity. She loves car rides and is well mannered in the car. Blinkie is potty trained and uses a doggie door at her foster home, but also is taken out by her foster family to make sure she goes at bedtime. She is also quiet in her crate until about 8 am, or she if she has to go out to potty before that she will let you know. Blinkie will be spayed on July 25, 2011, and will then be ready for her forever home. Are you looking for a little snuggle buddy, a little girl that will follow you everywhere - even to the ends of the earth? A little girl who will love you with her whole self but needs love in return to learn she need not be frightened any longer, that she too will be loved as she will love you? If so then look no farther, for this is the girl for you. After all Blinkie, Blinkie she’s such a wonderful girl!
