Kissy's Story...
Kissy and her sisters were lucky kittens indeed! A Huntersville resident started feeding a stray cat on her patio and one day, the cat brought her a kitten. The resident followed mom to the rest of the kittens and brought them all inside. Mom found a permanent home with her rescuer, and FFL is helping with vetting the kittens and finding them good homes.

Kissy is a black and white kitten, possibly medium hair, with a white lightning bolt stripe over her face - and she's full of mischief! Kissy is very playful and sweet. Her sisters were both adopted, so Kissy started hanging out with Lola, another beautiful youngster available for adoption. Kissy is about 1 1/2 yrs old now (Sep 2010) and has been in foster care for almost a year. She thinks it's about time that some lucky find her and take her home!

For more information about Kissy or if you are interested in adopting, please email us at lknanimalshelter@aol.com. Please visit FFL at the Concord Petco every Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kissy, a Harrisburg Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Harrisburg, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Harrisburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
