Darla's Story...
January 18, 2007 - Meet Darla! Darla is a 9 week old female Golden Retriever/Chow (best guess!) mix. She and her sisters and brother landed in a kill shelter and ran out of time. How sad to be so young and out of chances in life :( But some wonderful volunteers decided to try one last time for them and called rescue. Now things are looking up for them!

Darla is a sweet, affectionate, outgoing little lady who is FULL of energy. She loves to play, and is always into something. She is not intimidated by the larger dogs in his foster home at all, and he absolutely loves people.

Darla is utd on routine vaccinations, flea tick prevention and heartworm prevention. She will be spayed Saturday.

Please Click Here to fill out an application. This is the first step in our adoption process. No adoption will be considered or discussed until this has been completed and received.

Darla must go to a home where she will live inside as an important member of the family. We do not adopt to anyone under the age of 21. Our adoption fee is $395, which includes the ground transport fee ($100) for dogs who traveled to their new home and the health certificate fee ($45) that is required by the USDA for all animals crossing state lines.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Darla, a Brattleboro Golden Retriever/Chow Chow puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Chow Chow for sale in Brattleboro, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Chow Chow puppy from a breeder in Brattleboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brattleboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brattleboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Chow Chow breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brattleboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
