Peggy's Story...
My name is Peggy and I love to play, almost as much as I love to, love! I am a super sweet loving girl, I just dont know why I am still sitting in a shelter? I am very people focused, I do well with children (who can handle my playful manner) and I really enjoy playing with other dogs. Sure I am still a playful puppy and I need some more training but believe me it is all worth it to have this bundle of joy around the house! I am working hard to learn my basics and I am crate trained already. Please come meet me today, we can play some ball and share some treats. 10 months old- 45lbs. My adoption fee is $160 and includes; current shots, spay rebate, microchip, 5 week training class, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam (in the SE Portland/Milwaukie area only), leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peggy, a Portland Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Portland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
