Gumby's Story...
Gumby is now 8 years old and was deemed unadoptable by Sun Valley Animal Shelter because of birth defects of his legs. Defects of front and back legs on his right side force him to hop on his 2 left legs. He has 1 leg that is about 2" longer than all his other legs. He was adopted out once but his new owners brought him back because they couldn't handle his hopping (good grief!!!). He is just the sweetest little boy and has made himself right at home from the moment he came to the Sanctuary. His defects do not slow him down at all as he runs, jumps and plays like a normal dog - he loves his new toys! He just had is bloodwork done and all results were fantastic
Gumby would be better as an only dog and in a home with no children. He gets spooked when children are around which will cause him to nip and act out.

Gumby is available for adoption to a qualified home. If you have any questions or would like to meet Gumby, contact us at 602-596-5568.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gumby, a Chandler Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Chandler, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Chandler.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chandler already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chandler breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chandler paves the way for another one to be saved.
