Molly (the QH)'s Story...
ADOPTION PENDING! Molly was on her way to Canada with 3 other horses when a volunteer spotted the group and contacted us. We intercepted and were able to place all the horses into foster homes where they are receiving some much needed work. Molly is a very well mannered girl that is still learning. She is well behaved on the ground but still does not know much undersaddle. Her foster family is currently teaching her to carry a rider. Molly is learning quickly. She is also accompanying her pasture mate Honor to some open shows. Snatch up this pretty girl while you can because she won't last long!

Update: Molly was one of the horses we took with us to an adoption event at Tractor Supply Company. A volunteer rode her around bareback in the grass at the side of the parking lot at a busy TSC with just a halter and leadrope and Molly did great. (You can see pics, here.) She still needs work on the basics but she has a nice calm temperment that really makes a great horse. She has lovely conformation and is a nice, solid quarter horse. Someone is going to be very lucky when they adopt this girl.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Molly (the QH), a Dewey Quarterhorse was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Quarterhorse for sale in Dewey, or seeking a Quarterhorse from a breeder in Dewey.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dewey already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dewey breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Quarterhorse breeders who help with Quarterhorse rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dewey paves the way for another one to be saved.
