My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lola's adoption fee is $225.

Hi there! My name is Lola, and I am a 10lb, 9 year young, spayed female, Chihuahua mix. I am up to date on all my vaccines and am micro chipped too! I have lots of energy and enthusiasm for life and I just LOVE going for walks!

At first, I may be a little timid and shy, but I do warm up to my human friends (and treats really help!). When I get really excited, I do my little "happy dance" and dance around in circles. My foster mom thinks this is adorable! I do my business outside, but would prefer that you not leave me alone too long. (It’s very hard to cross all four paws!)

You couldn't guess my age just by looking at me, as I have a real zest for life! I also love to cuddle up next to my humans, and I get along well with my foster sisters. I am crate trained and I don't mind at all being in it, while the humans are out and about. I will also sleep in my crate at night if you wish..... but truth be told, if you let me, I would gladly snuggle into a dog bed or my ultimate favourite- with you in your bed,(how do they make human beds so soft and comfy??) But my foster mom says that I am such a good girl, and am quite content either way.

I will bark when startled or when someone new comes near, but will settle with correction. My foster mom says I have a great personality, but that I just need some reassurance, love, patience and guidance and all my colours will shine. An experienced dog owner with calm, kindness and gentleness to give will be the key to my heart. If you think we would be a great match, would like to get to know me and aren't afraid of some kisses and cuddles then I am your gal! You know the song "Whatever Lola wants... Lola gets"? ...well pretty Lola wants YOU! Please consider filling out an application for me; I promise to fill your heart with love and laughter and be your faithful little companion.

A note from Lola's foster mom: Lola has come a long way since being in foster care. She is a wonderful little girl and has many happy years left in her life to enjoy. People often wonder about adopting an older dog, but the nice thing is that they have already gone through all of the challenges that puppies go through (like chewing, puppy piddles, mouthing, nipping, leash training). With a senior dog, much of the training is already complete! Lola's ideal home would be one where she can enjoy a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. A home without children would best be suited to her and one where her humans either work part time, work from home or are retired would be best. Lola requires daily walks (the more the merrier) and really needs and enjoys snuggling with her humans. She's been through a lot - as has any dog that suddenly finds themselves without a home and she is really ready and deserving of finding her "happily ever after".
