Nutmeg's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Nutmeg's Story...
Nutmeg is an incredibly sweet and wonderful 1.5 yr old hound mix and is 70 lbs. She is a big love puppy, happy and healthy and full of life but narrowly escaped being put down due to her anxiety in the shelter. She has worked through her insecurities (she had a rough puppy hood!) and is now a total sweetheart! She loves people; other dogs and even likes to play with cats. She is also crate trained.

Nutmeg would like an active family who will take her hiking, jogging, etc. She can climb fences so can not be left unattended but would be a great candidate for an electric fence.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nutmeg, a Portsmouth Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Portsmouth, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Portsmouth.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portsmouth already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portsmouth breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portsmouth paves the way for another one to be saved.
