Emma's Story...
Meet Emma! She's just a cute country girl that loves attention and loves to play. She has a longgggg basset body, short basset legs and a beagle face and ears. She was saved from the kill shelter with her siblings on her very last day. Whew! She only weighs about 20 lbs and is about 4 1/2 months old now. Emma has a real love for squeeky toys. She'll grab it and run while her brothers chase her for it. She likes to tease them! Emma loves the water and likes to swim in the giant water bowl regularly. She'd do great in a home that might have a kiddie pool for her or a pond nearby. Emma gets along great with everyone and everything! She will be ready to come to her new home on Labor Day weekend when her shots and spaying will be completed!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emma, a Harrisonburg Beagle/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/Basset Hound for sale in Harrisonburg, or seeking a Beagle/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Harrisonburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisonburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisonburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/Basset Hound breeders who help with Beagle/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisonburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
