SUNNY's Story...
"Sunny", one of five puppies born June 24, 2010 to a doxi-chi mom must have Jack Russell in his gene pool also because he looks alot like a JRT pup. He is full of energy and became the favorite foster playmate of his three year-old neighbor, William. "Sunny" would love to brighten another child's Christmas morning and many Christmases to come. He loves to play and longs for a lifelong playmate. Come and meet "Sunny" and his brother "Buns", who looks more like a min-pin, Tuesdays from 4-7pm at The Rice University Farmer's Market. Contact Janice at or 713.592.2299 to arrange a meeting with Sunny.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

SUNNY, a Houston Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Houston, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
