Duffy's Story...
Intake: August 18, 2011

Duffy is a mature Border Collie mix who was surrendered when his owners moved out of the country. Like most Border Collies, Duffy is a smart boy with loads of training potential! Duffy is housebroken and used to being indoors. He is quiet in his kennel and should make a great family pet. We will update his profile once we get to know him a bit better!

*Update Aug. 30: Duffy has been with us for several days and is not enjoying the shelter environment. He is showing some tension and anxiety and at this time we are not recommending him for a home with children, older teens should be fine. Duffy would benefit from a quiet home where he can have his space.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duffy, a Morden Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Morden, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Morden.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Morden already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Morden breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Morden paves the way for another one to be saved.
