Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.
PLEASE CLICK ON READ MORE ABOUT THIS PET FOR COMPLETE INFORMATION!
If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
Benjamin is a 5 year old, 55 pound basset hound who lost his home due to a change in marital status of his humans. He is a typical basset hound and still enjoys playing with other dogs or going on walks. Benjamin has lived with a cat and has even curled up to sleep with the cat but if the cat runs he must chase her though he won't hurt her. Ben is a happy, easy-going dog who is house trained and can be home for a work day. He has never lived with children but is fine with teens. Ben is with a 501c3 non profit rescue. His adoption fee is $150 and he is neutered, heartworm negative and on prevention, up to date on shots and flea/tick prevention and has a HomeAgain microchip.
To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.
