My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lizzie is an adorable little Chihuahua who weighs only about 4 pounds and about 6 yr old. She is good with other dogs around her size and does just fine with the resident cat. Lizzie arrived at a shelter in a cardboard box and when the lid was removed she came out growling. Poor Lizzie. We didn't blame her, though, as her tough act was her only defense. Lizzie was terrified there. But lucky for her, she had a friend at the shelter who instantly thought she was adorable and deserving of another chance. That shelter administrator called A Leg Up Rescue and we are so glad she did! Lizzie is indeed deserving of another chance. This little lovebug would do well in a peaceful home with someone who likes a little cuddle bug. But don't think she isn't spunky or playful - she's that as well! She can bounce around like a little rocket, and loves exploring the house and backyard. Lizzie could be fine as an only dog, or with a small dog buddy, but she would probably do best in a home without young kids due to her petite size. She is currently in a foster home where the resident dog likes to stalk her, and that's just not fun for Lizzie.
