Tommy Girl's Story...
Hey everyone. Just chillin here at the center with all my other feline friends. I've had a very rough past, but I am very happy and proud that I made it here to the center just in time. I was in labor for over 10 hours when I arrived here. They had to rush me to the vet where I had emergency surgery. They saved one of my kittens and he has already been adopted. But as for me, I'm just a great cat. I do have to take some medicine every other day because I, like a lot of you have arthritis. But it really is no big deal, you just mix it in with my food. I'm kind of independant, but that's pretty normal for a cat anyway. I like to be petted, but I don't like to be picked up. Well, I get along great with other cats and don't mind dogs. If you would like to meet me, drop by the center and we'll talk!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tommy Girl, a Blairsville Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Blairsville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Blairsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Blairsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Blairsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Blairsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
