My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello friends! Thanks for stopping by my page, it's very nice of you to stop by and get to know me better! Please allow me to introduce myself so that we can get to know each other better.

My name is Daisy and I am a 11 month old English Pointer/Dalmation mixed female who came to N.B.S. Animal Rescue from a very sad high kill shelter in Ohio where I was found as a stray and sadly scheduled to be put to sleep due to lack of space. I was only a 6 month old puppy at the time when some great friends at another animal rescue swooped in and saved my life! I will always be tremendously grateful to my Aunt Angie and friends who helped save me and give me a chance at life! After all of those scary days and nights on the street, and those horrible nights in that Ohio shelter, I was really scared and nervous of new things. N.B.S. Animal Rescue was able to find me a terrific foster family who is so patient, loving, and kind that they are helping me gain my confidence back.

My foster mom says that I am by far one of the sweetest and most loving dogs she's ever fostered. She's always telling my foster dad how deep and soulful my eyes are and how much it hurts her to see the pain and fear in my eyes from my past. My foster dad is very patient with me and he helps me to figure out that new surroundings and people are not going to hurt me. My foster mom says that I've come a long way in gaining trust and being comfortable with new situations, but I still need some help in gaining some self confidence and re-building trust in humans. I'm a shy gal until I'm comfortable and know that you won't hurt me, so I would really like to be in a kind, patient, and loving forever home that understands my emotional past and genuinely wants to help me blossom into the beautifully confident pup my foster mom says she knows is within me.

I get along great with other dogs, in fact, my new adoptive home needs to have another dog for me to play with as I am most confident in my surroundings when there is another dog next to me. I love to play, so it would be great if your dog was looking for a play buddy to run and chase and romp around with - I'm an excellent play mate! I'm good with cats too, they can be a bit temperamental but I'm a really good girl - I just leave them alone unless they want to snuggle. My foster parents have no doubt that I would be fabulous with kids, but because of my shyness and lack of confidence, loud sudden noises scare the beegezus out of me, and kids tend to do that a lot - even the big ones until I get to know them and understand that they won't hurt me. I'm looking for a very calm household with no little kids and a patient and loving family to help continue the training my foster parents have been teaching me. I am house trained, crate trained, and REALLY enjoy snuggling with you - I feel most safe when I'm snuggled by your side, my foster dad says that I am a world class snuggler at night and I hardly ever snore! I know how to sit, I'm doing really well at gaining confidence on a leash, and am getting better at meeting new people and not being so scared. My foster parents take me to doggy day care once a week so that I can get used to strangers and to play with other fun loving dogs.

If you think that I might be the perfect addition to your family, please send us an e-mail at nbsanimalrescue@gmail.com or visit www.nbsanimalrescue.com to to fill out a simple online adoption application.

Thank-you for stopping by and getting to know me! I hope that we hear from you soon!
