My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SMILEY is a favorite at the shelter. We feel that she is a Gordon Setter mix, though possibly could have some Australian Shepherd too. She is three years old. Smiley's teeth are worn in such as way as to indicate she may have been chained outside in the past. This does not stop this girl from being happy, though! Smiley really DOES smile at you - her happy face reflects her wonderful heart! Smiley enjoys walks and loves to play ball in the yard. She is a gentle, friendly and affectionate dog with a fluffy coat that is perfect for petting. Smiley is great with everyone and does well with other dogs AND she passed her cat test with flying colors!

Smiley has arrived in Maine. Her foster mom says she is a huge fan of squeaky toys, her current favorite being a squeaky pig! Smiley is very food motivated and is gentle at taking treats. She needs to lose a little weight so she is currently getting low-calorie treats. She is VERY eager to please and loves to be around people. Smiley is working on her leash manners and is doing great with the humans and other dog in her foster home. She would do well with children who love to snuggle her. Smiley smiles with her teeth - mouth open, teeth bared in a grin, tongue lolling to one side. Pretty funny! She wags her tail so hard that her whole body goes from side to side. Her foster mom feels she has known family life in the past as she knows puppy eyes earn her snuggles and is completely housetrained.

Thank you for considering rescue!

**Please note: we do not have a physical location, we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.**
