My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION

THIS IS CiCi....an 8 lb, 8.5 yr old, Maltipoo, who plays like a puppy! Were it not for her teeth being dirty, and the information from her former owner stating she was born in June, 2004, we would think her younger. That being said, this little girl has not had a nice life...and it is heartbreaking. She had one shrunken eye, which was so infected, it had to be removed......and our vet says it was due to trauma of some kind and was not a birth defect. We originally thought she was deaf, but she has very selective hearing sometimes!! When CiCi arrived at the shelter, she was covered in lacerations and was limping....they thought she had been hit by a car. Two weeks later, she started to use her hind leg...and xrays showed no injury. Our best guess is that this little girl was badly abused. She also had worms, fleas and a skin infection, but all that is better now! She was a mess when we got her and was not familiar with love or attention! She was in a foster home for a year -- was supposed to be her forever home -- but when her guardian combined families, the husband did not like CiCi, so she was given back to us. She is WONDERFUL in her new foster home and is following her everywhere....and is great with all the dogs in the house. She circles when she has to do her business, so you just have to be aware of her, but she has now learned to use the doggie door (no guarantees at your house!)…..she loves to play and postures to engage with the other dogs. This little girl needs a patient family who will love her despite her imperfection. She does love to give kisses and show her gratitude. She is great on a leash and loves to go for walks! She does not like being left alone, but is fine with other dogs in the house. We have seen that the more love she gets, the more she realizs that people are not bad. If you have a big heart, patience and a lot of love to give our little waif, please come and adopt CiCi....your heart will feel better for adopting little CiCi!

Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID tag!
If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We want to give you the time you deserve, so please help us help you!! We will contact you once it has been reviewed.

Most every Sunday, unless we are doing a special event, we are at Century City Mall (10250 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles 90067 behind the Concierge Booth near Brooks Bros) from 12-4pm. You can see this, and many more, adorable pups at this weekly event! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!!! And don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on events we may be doing! See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes.

Thanks for thinking rescue and adoption....and for considering saving a life. It will be the best gift you ever give yourself or your family.
