Sandy's Story...
Sandy is a loving and affectionate senior husky that was found in NY (10305) and has been staying at the Staten Island Animal Care Shelter since August 31st, 2011. Sandy is in need of foster care or permanent adoption so the shelter is not forced to 'remove her' and due to her age, Sandy is fighting a race against time. She is about 40 pounds and is a lovely red and white purebred siberian huskey. Please reach out for more information, or feel free to call the Staten Island animal shelter at 718-966-3608.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sandy, a Huntington Station Siberian Husky/Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Siberian Husky/Husky for sale in Huntington Station, or seeking a Siberian Husky/Husky dog from a breeder in Huntington Station.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntington Station already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntington Station breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Siberian Husky/Husky breeders who help with Siberian Husky/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntington Station paves the way for another one to be saved.
