Kate's Story...
Introducing Kate, a charming 1 1/2 year old red Irish female. In Kate's previous life, she was neglected and not fed properly... she is severely underweight, but is working hard at getting to a normal weight! She is timid and needs to learn that humans are not something to fear. She desperately wants to trust people but isn't quite ready. Once she's gotten the courage to approach you, though, she's quite the cuddler!

Because Kate does have fear issues (including noise and fast movements), she would be best suited for a quiet home with no small children. Kate does have severe separation anxiety and needs to be in a home where someone is home most of the time and has at least one other dog.

If you are interested in this or any other dog being fostered by IGCA Rescue - Colorado, please contact our state Rescue Coordinator (Serena - to start the adoption paperwork process

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kate, a Centinnial Italian Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Italian Greyhound for sale in Centinnial, or seeking a Italian Greyhound dog from a breeder in Centinnial.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Centinnial already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Centinnial breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Italian Greyhound breeders who help with Italian Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Centinnial paves the way for another one to be saved.
