Severe Macaw

Skeeter is a beautiful Severe Macaw (also known as Chestnut Fronted Macaws), the largest of what is known as the “Mini-Macaws”. Severe Macaws can live to 30 years, so this little guy will be around for many years to come. It is thought that he is probably around 10 years old. Severe Macaws tend to be comical and relatively friendly, with a large personality. Severe Macaws are very intelligent and bond quickly with their owner. They would love to hang out with their “flock” (owners) at least an hour per day but should at least be let out of their cage for 2-4 hours daily to stretch their muscles and exercise their beaks and wings. These birds are generally not known as great talkers but what they lack in talking ability. Of course, once adopted, he’ll need a sturdy cage, plenty of variety in his diet, including fruit, veggies, pasta, grains, well cooked eggs, white meats and pellets.
