My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ren is a striking young boy who gets a lot of attention wherever he goes. Some people say he looks like a miniature Vizla but we tell them no, he is just purebred Mutt. Perhaps we can call him a Dappet? LOL Whatever his breed, Ren is a sweet boy that loves everyone. He would be fine with children but really wants to be a part of the family and involved in daily activities. He is still a pup in many ways and is approximately 8 – 10 months old.

Ren is young, but is very willing to learn and follows instructions well. He loves every person he meets, regardless if they are young, old, big or small. Ren loves to play and go for walks, but is always ready for a good cuddle session. He is very well behaved in the home– does not chew or have accidents in the house. He definitely knows what people food is and will beg at times, which I am working on with him. Ren is a lap dog size, however, he has the personality of a larger dog, He has great endurance and loves going for walks and exploring new areas.

Ren comes when called and is working on sit and stay. He is young dog so still has much to learn but is making progress daily. He is house-trained but had has the occasional accident when he is not let out regularly but has never had an accident at night. He does not like to be crated and prefers to be wherever his people are. Left to his own devices he doesn’t get into any trouble and no problem sleeping through the night.

He loves riding in the car and seems to know what it is. He is not yet leash trained but we are working on that as well. He is a gentleman in the home, though if there was people food in his reach, I am sure he would help himself. He does try to bolt out the door, but only when you are leaving without him.

Ren is an absolute pleasure to have around. He is a very devoted companion and is more then willing to show affection to people he knows as well as total strangers. He would be gentle enough to go to a home with children, but I think he would do best with a family that is home more often then not. He would be okay in an apartment as long as he was getting enough exercise but would love to have a backyard to call his own. Ren would be fine as second dog or by himself so he could lap up all of the attention. Ren has reached his full height but at just over 11 lbs he does have a bit of filling out to do yet.

If you would like to know more about Ren or think he would be a good choice for your family’s companion, please go to our website at uglymutts.com and submit an application for consideration.
