My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Betty but my friends like to call me Betty Boop. I am a gentle yet disheartened 3 year-old Chow/Terrier mix. I am so sad and terrified of what will happen to me. Why am I in this cage? I am indeed a skittish and nervous lass. My human friends think I suffered from mistreatment in the past . It's been taking me a while to break out of my shell with the volunteers. I'm in need of a devoted guardian; one who is kind and patient; one who can convince me that I will be all right and that I can trust again. I would be so blessed if I could receive plenty of TLC, consistency and peace. For this reason I must only go home to an experienced guardian. If there are children in the home I would like them to be at least 10 years of age and sensitive to my feelings please, as I am not too comfortable when being handled and am awfully hand-shy. I know my "sit" command and maybe once I loosen up a bit I can respond to more commands. I am a mellow gal who is independent and often times aloof due to my Chow nature. I would love to be your walking buddy; I'm quite the lady on lead. I'm not too fond of other pooches so I would like to be the one and only woof woof of the household. I do hope that when you spend time with me you will fall in love. Do you think I could be one of those lucky dogs who get to live happily ever after with a family who loves and adores them? Am I worthy enough? Please come down to remind me what a special girl I truly am.
