My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The pictures here do not do Max justice as they are his pound shots. When you see Max in person he is a beautiful dog. Max had grown up in the shelter but is really ready to find his forever home. He is a sensitive dog that is very in tune with people and more than willing to please. He has a beautiful medium length, glossy coat and a heart of gold.


Max is a sweet dog that would do well in a home with other pets and children. He is a gentle, kind hearted soul that just needs to find a family that will appreciate him for the wonderful dog he is. Because he is a black dog he was totally overlooked at the shelter but I am sure you won’t miss what a wonderful boy Max is.


Max is a young dog just under a year old and should weigh about 50 lbs once he has time to fill out. He is currently in a foster home with other dogs and cats and has no problems. He can be shy when he first meets you but once he sees that you are not going to hurt him he is excited to meet you. Once Max is relaxed, he is very affectionate, loyal and eager to please. He is house trained, crate trained and very well mannered in the home. He is not a hyper dog and instead is quite relaxed in familiar surroundings.


This beautiful boy will make an excellent family pet or single’s companion. He would excel at obedience because he is naturally well mannered, is an intelligent dog and is very eager to please. He has no issues with being left alone for a full working day but loves to be with you when you are home. He would love to be part of a family and would do anyone proud.
