Amigo and Misty (TIA)'s Story...
Amigo (brown) is a 9 year old male shih tzu and Misty (black/white) is an 8 year old female shih tzu. This pair has been together their entire life and truly can't be separated. They are both very loving and affectionate. Amigo loves to be held and have his belly rubbed. Misty is a bit more independent but is still very sweet. Misty has occasional allergy issues, mostly seasonal. This is very common to the breed. They get along with everyone and other animals.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Amigo and Misty (TIA), a Harrisonburg Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Harrisonburg, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Harrisonburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisonburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisonburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisonburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
