LEILA's Story...
LEILA, a one-year-old yellow Lab mix with beautiful hazel eyes, is still looking for a home for the holidays. They were rescued as 4-month-old pups from the lobby of the city pound, in very sad shape, but with lots of TLC and vet care, they are now happy and healthy young adults. LEILA and her siblings will grow to be fairly large dogs, so they will need a secure fenced yard and would love to be adopted by a family that already has another dog/s. They are very gentle and playful and have been lovingly fostered by a family with a three year-old son, so they would make a great family pet. Why Adoption is a Great Option

LEILA, a Houston Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Houston, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
