PACER's Story...
"Pacer," a proud and noble Chihuahua/Schnauzer mix, just eight pounds approx 9 mos old, was found in the Montrose area before the holidays. He was wearing a collar but no tags or chip. "Pacer" got his name because he likes to do a little circle dance when he gets excited. He is frisky and loves to run around the back yard, chasing squirrels, and enjoys his visits to the dog park. His foster mom says, despite his pint size, he guards his territory but that he's not a "barker" unless he has a reason to sound an alert. Pacer likes children and shows no sign of aggression. He is being socialized with both small and large dogs. "Pacer" is housebroken and leash trained and knows how to" sit" and "stay." Neutered and fully vetted, and with the cutest swirl of a tail, this little guy is ready to find a "Home, Sweet, Home."

Why Adoption is a Great Option

PACER, a Houston Chihuahua/Schnauzer (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Schnauzer (Miniature) for sale in Houston, or seeking a Chihuahua/Schnauzer (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Schnauzer (Miniature) breeders who help with Chihuahua/Schnauzer (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
