My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*******IMPORTANT****** IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ONE OF OUR DOGS PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE AND FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. AFTER WE HAVE AN APPLICATION ON FILE WE WILL COMMUNICATE SPECIFICS ABOUT THAT PARTICULAR DOG. WE ARE A SMALL RESCUE, OVERWHELMED BY THE NUMBER OF DOGS WE HAVE IN OUR FOSTER PROGRAM AND ARE UNABLE TO ANSWER OR CALL UNTIL WE HAVE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION.
Petunia is a sweet female English Bulldog, found stray in Madison Co., GA..
She is underweight and appears to have been stray for several weeks. At some point she was well taken care of, as evidenced by the fact that she apparently had knee surgery in the past and a rabies tag from 2009. Possibly stolen and placed in a breeding program? There is recent evidence of poor care, with callouses on her knees and elbows from living on cement...but it appears that attempts at breeding were not successful!! Possibly why she was dumped?
Anyway, she is no in safe hands and will never find herself in danger again. She is at our vet for a full medical evaluation and will be spayed. She is heartworm negative and now UTD on shots. Petunia will remain in quarantine for 2 weeks, becasue of her stint at the shelter and then will be transferred to a foster home. Since she was tranferred directly to our vet, we are not sure of her behavior yet but she easily rolls onto her back for belly rubs and was not reactive to dogs she came in contact with at our vet...was even excited and wanted to play. She was also on the run with another dog.
Note: Petunia has a beautiful bulldog face and appears well bred, we just which she had a microchip so that she could have been returned to her rightful owner. I know that someone is missing this beautiful girl!
