Captain Jack's Story...
11/9/11- Poor Captain Jack was abandoned in a home after his owners moved out. He was bitten by a much larger dog and has several deep bite wounds to his head. He is now all healed up and starting to grow into a much healthier boy!

Captain Jack is an 8 month old male pit mix. He is a pint size guy that is a lover. He was rescued from Pinal Animal Control at 2 months old with a large bite on his head. He was nursed back to health and was adopted by a great adopter. Due to extreme medical problems with his dad he was returned to Ruff Road Rescue. He is a mellow guy that rides great in the car, knows basic commands, is kennel and dog door trained, and loves to play. He is great with cats, kids, dogs, and he even lived with chickens! This little guy is looking for a family to spend the rest of his life with.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Captain Jack, a Mesa American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Mesa, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Mesa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mesa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mesa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mesa paves the way for another one to be saved.
