Mikey's Story...
Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "To have a friend is one of the greatest delights of life". If you're looking for a friend who is a true delight, meet Mikey. Mikey the Beagle, is a 45 pound tub of pure love but his family can no longer take care of him. Though he is 8 years old, he still has lots of spunk and "get-up-and-go". He is totally house-trained and loves to be inside with his human but he also loves being outside where he can chase squirrels and birds as well. Mikey would be perfect for a family who wants a great dog who is low maintenance and is past the puppy stage.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mikey, a Houston Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Houston, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
