Sandy's Story...
Sandy is a young Lab/Beagle mix that was found by my rural mail lady out in the middle of nowhere. She came into rescue with Sassy, Trixie and Sissy (Sissy's been adopted.) Since Sandy came into rescue with 3 other dogs that might have had mange, she was treated for it as well. She never showed any signs but we decided to err on the side of caution. They remained in isolation for 2 weeks and are now mingling with the other dogs in the kennel. Sandy gets along well with the other dogs but right now prefers to remain in her kennel while her kennel mates play outside. She gets along well with other dogs but is a bit shy. Sandy is up to date on all vaccinations, micro chipped, heart worm tested negative, skin scraped and tested negative for mange but treated just in case it was a false negative, spayed and is on Revolution.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sandy, a Irvington Labrador Retriever/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Beagle for sale in Irvington, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Beagle dog from a breeder in Irvington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Irvington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Irvington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Beagle breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Irvington paves the way for another one to be saved.
