Xena's Info...

I am already spayed, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with cats.

Xena's Story...
Xena was adopted from us over 18 months ago, and has been returned. She missed out on a lot of important social skills and basic training, but is beginning basic obedience classes this week.
Her former family recently got deployed and have come to the conclusion that they dont have time for her, so they decided to surrender her back to us. She lived previously as a mostly outside dog and with kids ages 4 to 15, and altho very active, never acted aggressively towards anyone. She also lived with a very small shih-tzu and they got along famously. However, since she has been back with us she is showing some small dog aggressions.
She is sort of shy of men, but that is something that better socialization will remedy. She has almost completed a full 6 week course of basic obedience. She is crate trained , but not fully housebroken. She gets along well with "Seven", another or our foster dogs.
She is blind in one eye, but is not affected physically by it. The vet determined that it was a birth defect. Adoption Fee $150 (fully vaccinated, spayed, HW negative). She is on Heartgard and Frontline.
Xena recently graduated from obedience classes.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Xena, a Carrollton Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Carrollton, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Carrollton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Carrollton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Carrollton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Carrollton paves the way for another one to be saved.
