Mica's Story...
I am Mica and I am the outgoing one in the family and I have to admit a little bit of a toy hog. I just can’t pass up a feather or toy mouse! I love to be petted, and I love to play. You should see me run, I gallop like a horse (not that I’ve ever seen a horse but that’s what my foster dad says). I’m still getting use to people but once I know you I will love you to give me a good belly rub! I love chasing my brother; maybe you could adopt us both? Then you’d have twice the love! Contact our foster family to meet us today at cmm@maine.rr.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mica, a Portland Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Portland, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
