My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet boy has been in the shelter since February 15th when he was picked up as a stray. Sadly, no one has claimed him.

I have to share the story of how I first noticed this dog earlier this week. We were about to leave the kennel area of the shelter when I noticed my 2 year old daughter Meadow, wasn't on my heels as we were walking. I turned around to see her bending down to pick up a small pink stuffed dog toy that was laying on the ground, just inches away from a kennel gate. She was babbling to the dog on the other side of the gate. As I got closer I could hear her saying, "Here ya go puppy. Here's yer toy." This beautiful yellow Lab actually seemed to be smiling at her. His expressive brown eyes seemed to glow as his tail beat back and forth vigorously with joy. She shoved the toy between the gate door and concrete wall to his kennel. The yellow Lab didn't miss a beat and grabbed the toy before it hit the ground. As I grabbed Meadow's hand to walk her awa y, the Lab abruptly dropped the toy from its mouth as if to say, "WAIT!!! Where are you going??? Don't leave!! You are my new friend!!"

Within a few minutes I pulled this sweet boy to have his picture taken. He was a gem. Little Meadow held his leash as he stood for many of his pictures. He was so calm the entire time we had him out. He didn't try to jump on us or act hyper in any way. And if you look at him, his eyes tell a story of a dog that just wants to be loved. Please, can someone give him the home he deserves??

If you can help this boy, please call the shelter at 502-633-0009.
