Katie's Story...
Hello, I am Katie. A striking black Labrador/Basenji mix with all the right moves. Right now I am a timid lady so that means will prefer a quieter home. Don’t get me wrong I am as
sweet and affectionate as can be I am just going to need a little reassurance and some confidence building! I prefer the company of those close to me but anyone with patience and lots of love will win my heart. I do well with other dogs and have lived with cats too- I love to chase and play with them. I am house trained and crate trained even. So come on baby I'm tired of talking,
Grab your coat and let's start walking! 2 years old-40lbs. My adoption fee is $160 and includes; current shots, spay, microchip, 5 week training class, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam, leash/collar, toy & Treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Katie, a Portland Labrador Retriever/Basenji dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Basenji for sale in Portland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Basenji dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Basenji breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Basenji rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
