King's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, and up to date with shots.

King's Story...
King is a very handsome, energetic, exhuberant and happy, 2-year-old, 75-pound, male, Great Dane/Lab/Ridgeback-mix looking for a loving guardian. King is full of gives kisses and tail wags and he just loves people, although he doesn't quite know his own strength so he would probably do best in a home with teenagers and adults so that he didn't accidentally knock down any small children. King already knows how to sit on command and he takes treats gently from your fingers. This wonderful dog has an excellent temperament and enjoys the company of other dogs.

King is healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, de-wormed and heartworm-tested. He is currently living in a boarding kennel near Chicago, IL and would love to get out of the kennel and into a loving home environment. For more information on King or to get a foster or adoption application, please contact Melia at melia88@comcast.net. His adoption donation of $200 benefits the rescue dogs of Lucky Dog Rescue.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

King, a Chicago Great Dane/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane/Labrador Retriever for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Great Dane/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Great Dane/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
