Zebra Finches's Story...
WMCH has multiple finches within an indoor aviary available for adoption. Currently, there are about 15 finches available. Our adoptable finches range in age from 2-5 years old. A typical zebra finch lifespan is 9-12 years. Zebra finches enjoy seeds (especially spray millet) and fresh foods such as small bits of chopped lettuce, apples, and grapes. The finch colors vary from lighter white to gray to dark gray. They are active little birds and the males have lovely, complex song patterns. The zebra finches are foster birds of West MI Critter Haven. Their adoption fee is $15/pair. For more information please contact us at info@wmicritterhaven.org. Adopters must be at least 18 years of age.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zebra Finches, a Grand Rapids Finch was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Finch for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Finch from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Finch breeders who help with Finch rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
