Message From Abby:
When I was just a few months old I was left in the back of a stranger's pickup truck. Fortunately for me he took me to rescue where I was placed in a foster home - that's sort of like an orphanage for dogs. Growing up in a foster home hasn't been too bad as there are several other dogs waiting to be adopted that I play with. My foster family takes good care of me but I sure would like a family of my own. Here are some of the reasons that I may be the perfect companion for you: I have a short, sleek, easy care coat, great disposition, get along well with other dogs of all sizes, good with children, walk well on a leash, sit when asked, and usually come when called.
Foster Mom's Note:
Abby loves to meet new people and has a natural protective instinct. When romping at the dog park and someone approaches from behind, Abby stops and barks to alert us. She does not show any aggression but she makes sure that we are aware of what is going on around us. I feel that Abby will make an excellent family companion. In addition to being sweet and loving Abby is very intelligent and learns quickly. She is also very inquisitive which sometimes gets her in trouble when she is in the house ("gee I wonder what happens to my dog bed when foster mom shuts the dryer door - think I'll get in and check it out"). Other than that Abby does well in the house. Abby hopes that you will come meet her soon.
