Mara's Story...
Hi My name is Mara, but my foster mom calls me Monkey!! I am a sweet little four year old female yorkie.shihtzu mix weighing only 9 pounds.

I love dogs and cats, but I’m a little shy with people until I get to know them, and then I’m gentle and loving. People always smile at me in the street, and I’m known far and wide (at least on my block) as the cutest dog in the world. I agree.

I’m a wonderful companion for anyone my foster mom says, but of course she’s biased because I kiss her good morning.

I am housetrained

Spayed with all my up to date shots

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mara, a Long Beach Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Shih Tzu for sale in Long Beach, or seeking a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Long Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Long Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Long Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Long Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
