From Fletcher's foster mom:
Fletcher is a fun and playful little guy with a lot of energy. He loves toys and will keep himself occupied for hours playing with them, running around the house with them as well as happily lying on his bed with them. He absolutely loves people and approaches everyone with bold curiosity and seems to think all people are his new friends, and also loves to snuggle on the couch at night. He enjoys playing outside as well, and loves running through the grass and bushes. He has become fast friends with every other dog he has met and quickly engages them in playing chase; in fact, he spends most of the day playing with our other dog Josie, who has been good with teaching him bite inhibition, socialization, and where to go to the bathroom. He has been exposed to big and small dogs, as well as cats, with no problems. So far, he is pretty well house trained - he has gotten to the point that he now lets himself out through the doggie door and outside on his own when he has to go to the bathroom, and if he can't get outside himself, he will let us know. He occasionally has an accident but not often, perhaps only early in the morning/or at night when he is in our room with the door closed. Obedience wise, he has learned sit and stay, still in the process of learning "down" and "leave it", and is learning to come when his name is called. He is also doing well with leash training.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fletcher, a San Diego American Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in San Diego, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
