Barbie's Story...
Barbie is about 8 years old and is at that Golden Age where she deserves lots of love and a warm place to call her own. She was surrendered to an emergency vet after a family brought her in saying they found her. She had a huge mass and abscess at the base of her tail which was treated with surgery.

Barbie is a low energy girl, but she is happy, playful, quiet, compliant, house broken, crate trained and loves to go for walks. She is good with other big dogs. Barbie should not go to a home with cats.

She is very people friendly and affectionate, and she adores being petted. She asks for a comfy bed, but not much else. She loves to be one on one with her peeps and will stay at your side.

Over the last month with us, she has become playful with other dogs, and she runs around the yard like she's in charge; if you could have seen her when she came into the program, you'd not believe it's the same dog!

Barbie is a level 2 dog who is living at a foster home in the east bay.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barbie, a Fresno German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Fresno, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Fresno.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fresno already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fresno breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fresno paves the way for another one to be saved.
