Blackberry's Story...
Intake: October 26, 2011

Blackberry was surrendered to the shelter when her previous owner no longer had time for her. Blackberry just finished weaning 11 puppies before coming to the shelter! She should be exhaused, but she has plenty of energy to go around! Blackberry has now been spayed and is ready for her very own family. She is a young, high energy, friendly girl that is likely to adapt well to most environments as long as she is provided plenty of exercise, consistency and boundaries. We will update Blackberry's profile once we get to know her better!

Update: Blackberry has been behavior tested and has shown herself to be a confident, high energy dog. Blackberry would benefit greatly from regular and ample exercise along with other structured activity to keep her busy. She would do best with a capable or experienced owner that could provide the firm, consistent handling that Blackberry needs to become the best dog she can be! Blackberry would be a welcome addition to an active family. We would not recommend her for a home with young children at this time due to her rough manner of play, but teenagers should be fine. Blackberry has shown some minor aggression towards some other dogs, and has done fine with others. She is likely to do well with another canine companion, provided they were introduced properly. Once this girl is receiving regular exercise and boundaries, she will blossom into a wonderful pet!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Blackberry, a Morden Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Morden, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Morden.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Morden already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Morden breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Morden paves the way for another one to be saved.
