Bubba's Story...
Hello, my name is Bubba, I’m an 8 year old male pug. I am potty trained, but not neutered yet. I am crate trained, but I prefer to sleep on the large dog bed my foster mom gave me (or in her laundry basket full of clothes!) My foster mom thinks I am the cutest little thing! I have severe skin allergies and am almost blind. My foster mom put me on special food, pill medications, and bathes me twice a week with medicated shampoo which seems to be helping my skin allergies and I’m improving every day! She also has put me on 2 types of eye-drops to help my eyes.

I absolutely LOVE to go for walks or just sniff around the back yard. Being a Pug, I LOVE to snuggle and follow my foster mom around the house.

I didn’t know how to play when I came to my foster mom’s house but my foster sister is definitely helping me out with that. We play together everyday now and we get along just fine! I am hoping to be placed at my forever home with someone or a family who will make me feel special and who will love me despite my little health issues (because everyone who has met me at my foster home absolutely adores me!) I am located in Lakeland and my adoption fee is only $175! Complete an adoption application here. If you love me but can’t adopt me, please send a donation to help pay medical bills for not just me but my fellow foster brothers and sisters. They sure could use it!

Our Adoption Process...
Our Adoption Application is found at our website.

Thank you for your interest in adopting a pug with the Pug Rescue of Florida! We are very excited that you are taking the time to help one of our many dogs find a forever home.

Filling out an application is a must and first step to adoption with us. Please read carefully below as there is helpful information about our application and adoption process. Also please note, that we are all volunteers. If for some reason you have not been contacted as soon as you wished, please do not think this is a reflection on your application, but a mere part of the process as our volunteers are all working as fast as we can. We promise, we will get back to you via e-mail, on the phone, or via mail and let you know the status of your application, if you are or are not a candidate for adoption of a rescue pug, and the next step(s) in the process, if applicable.

You can expect the process to take up to 2 weeks (sometimes longer) from receipt of application to the adoption of your dog, depending on the availability of pugs and whether or not a pug you are interested in is ready to be adopted (if on medical hold).

Available Pugs: You will find our available pugs by clicking here. All pugs, whether on medical hold or not, are available for adoption. This section of the site is a guide to help you in finding your perfect match. Please take the time to read each dogs profile, as this is the best way to know which particular pug is best for your home. If you do not see a match at the time being, please fill out an application, as we constantly get dogs in and may match exactly what you are looking for.

Pug Puppies: Yes, puppies are cute and adorable. However, we rarely have surrendered puppies. If a puppy does become available, all applications will be reviewed and the puppy will go to the home PROoF feels is best to take on such a handful. Thank you for understanding.

Completing an Adoption Application: All adoption applications are subject to acceptance based on a review process that may require collecting information from references and visiting the applicant’s home. All decisions on placing dogs in adoptive and foster homes are based solely on the judgment of the volunteers and coordinators of PROoF. To apply to adopt a pug complete the application below and email, fax or snail mail it to the following:
