Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Maya is a cruelty case. She came from an abusive home. When she was picked up she was very emaciated and extremely under weight (only 76 lbs). You could see every rib in her body. Her neck had a huge open wound from an embedded collar. She was covered with ticks to the point that you couldn’t see the skin in her ears. She tested pos for Ehrlichia and Heartworms. She was in such bad shape, we did not know if she would make it.
As soon as we got Maya, we visited the vet for a full health evaluation. We got her started on meds and special supplements to help improve her skin condition. She got spayed and vaccinated. After she gained some weight, we put her through Heartworm treatment.
It's been a few months and Maya is now in perfect health. She is now ready for a new home.
Maya is a very pretty Dane. She is estimated to be about 3 1/2 years old. She is very sweet and loving. She is house broken and is kennel trained. She gets along with other dogs, but she has a strong prey drive, so will chase cats and other small animals.
Since Maya was abused by a man, she can be a little timid when she meets men she does not know. She also get protective when stranger comes to the house, but she is fine once she knows she is not going to hurt.
