My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jadien is a handsome 5 year old with lots of potential. He and his brother Hadien are the most emotionally distressed of the 10 good quality, but very neglected, Pekingese we rescued when the breeder died and his widow wasn't able to take care of them. Each Peke's profile will be updated as we learn more about them from their foster moms. UPDATE 4/16/07 from Foster Mom: I can touch them and pick them up with out them shying away. They will need patient adopters and time to adjust! They are very well behaved and house broken. They also do not bark much at all! They are the perfect Pekes as far as I am concerned! They are not players, but like to bat at you with their paws and, Hadien stands up to beg. They love to cuddle and have their nose and ears scratched. And they are very good for grooming and nails cut. UPDATE 9/8/07: Jadien was adopted and returned within 24 hours (foster mom driving more than 1500 miles in a weekend!) because the "very Peke experienced" adopter didn't understand the term "will need patient adopters and time to adjust!" Jadien was literally scared blind when left with her and the adopter, who wanted "instant love and gratification," instead got snapped at. She said she didn't have time to work with him until he adjusted! He really needs a 1 person home, as he attaches himself to 1 person. Please don't apply unless you can give him more than just 24 hours to fall in love with you!
Currently, Jadien is being fostered in upstate NY and his asking adoption fee is $250.
