Frances's Story...
Available Soon!

Frances is a petite 1.5 yr old female GSD that was picked up as a stray in San Francisco. She is cautious and a bit aloof at first, but turns quite affectionate after a short time. She loves to go for walks and does not pull hard on the lead although she does range around, knows some basic commands like sit, is a bit whiney in a crate at first, and settles nicely around the house in the evening when things are quiet. She does not appear to be a counter-surfer, although she will help herself to edibles that are within easy range.

She has met about 10 strangers so far, and after a brief initial caution, she is social. She is interested in other dogs from a distance, but we will explore more of her close up behavior in the future.

She still has some puppy mouthiness that we will work on because it is not appropriate for a dog her age.

Frances is new in the program and we will update this bio as we learn more. For now, she is a level 3 dog being fostered in the south Bay.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Frances, a Fresno German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Fresno, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Fresno.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fresno already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fresno breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fresno paves the way for another one to be saved.
